Il volume, utilissimo strumento di facilitazione e sostegno per affrontare le difficoltà dell’ebraico e introdursi presso il testo biblico, propone:
- il testo ebraico: testo masoretico della Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia che riporta il Codex Leningradensis B19A(L), datato circa 1008;
- la traduzione interlineare: eseguita a calco, cerca di privilegiare il più possibile gli aspetti morfologico-sintattici del testo ebraico, anche a scapito, in alcuni casi, della semantica. Va letta da destra a sinistra seguendo la direzione dell’ebraico. Conia diversi neologismi che intendono rendere meglio il senso originario;
- il testo della Bibbia CEI a piè di pagina con a margine i testi paralleli.

This seminal and comprehensive study of Targum Jonathan to Zephaniah focuses on two major facets of exegesis: The twenty-one manuscripts from five different provenances, reflecting a variety of textual traditions and scribal erudition, thus revealing distinct stemmas; and the history of transmission of Targum Jonathan. Divergences from the literality of the MT unveil the emotions – fear, dismay, and hope – and the prayers of the meturgeman, as he reacts to historical events in the near past and in his own time.
